I am a power gal. or am I ?

What a day!!
(Note: Beware! Good use of the word "Powerful" in the following post!)

At Bandra station. Highly determined to have a great lunch after being completely fed up of the boring bland college mess food.

Thinking over the places worth going, keeping in mind the expenses that need to be kept within limits. Always have been in the Bandra west, we thought of going the East side this time. And this “we” includes just the two of us.

The powerful Shweta asks her dear friend, not to worry at all, we will get down, take an auto and end up somewhere good, it doesn’t matter if we’re new to the place we can manage! Come ON!
They get down a particular staircase, see people queuing for tickets, see JUST a couple of autos at THE Bandra East gate and still don’t get that it might be a wrong exit that they’d taken.
The o so powerful girl is still encouraging the friend to go ahead…

They take a left turn from the exit just because the powerful one feels it’s better to take a lesser crowded way out. They walk and they walk. Few little houses, few paanwalas, few kids playing on the lane, few kabaadiwalas, . . . they’re still not getting it!!! Is that how a bandra east station exit should be like?

They walk faster because it starts seeming creepy now (rather than taking an about turn to the safe station). They see a completely secluded area, railway lines on the right side, trees on the left.
Where are we, where are we!!! Are places like these called “no-man’s land” ?

In the scorching sun of the late noon, they are still walking, the powerful girl boosting the courage of her friend that it’s all gonna be okay, it’s not a very wrong place, we’re gonna get outta here soon to the busy streets… (Thinking “hopefully!!” )

Finally, some mortals here and there, some big scary guys throwing huge stones on the electric poles for no known reasons. All of them looking at the two girls as if seeing a girl for the first time. “what are they even looking at, dirty, silly, cheap, pervert guys!” thought the powerful girl, still not realizing it’s not a great area to be in!

Hoping for a better scene ahead, they speed up. The powerful girl still encouraging her friend, cracking jokes so that she doesn’t worry much, cause then she herself would have two things to worry about; first how to get outta there and second what to do of her fifty kilograms heavy friend if she collapses.

A long time passes in this whole walking and hoping and getting dreadful feelings. Finally a group of middle aged “uncles” appears. Well they too look dangerous but suddenly they’ve become uncles cause they look lesser horrifying than the guys that they left behind.

“Uncle, where’s the exit to the main road from here?”… Oh the powerful gal speaks!

“Beta, where do you exactly wish to go?”… Uncle still not understanding we’re SO lost!!

“uff uncle, don’t u understand! I mean where exactly!! We don’t even know why we came to bandra in the first place!! For God’s sake!! Anyway how should I keep things safe now before my friend yells that we’re lost and makes it even more unsafe!!” ... The Powerful girl Thinks !!!

“Well, uncle, we were actually looking for an auto or a taxi, there’s none here! So . .. if you could..!”

“o yes, you’ll get an auto nearby, go straight towards the railway gate, cross the lines, there you’ll find ‘Gaiety Galaxy’(it’s a mall she thought) and loads of autos there.”

They both leave the place asap and head towards the gate, which has not come into the scene for many minutes now! Finally, they heave a sigh of relief on seeing a railway gate, cross it right a second before it closes down on their empty heads, and again, a long walk to nowhere.

They thought they would cross the gate and the mall would appear out of blue; the existence of the human race would be witnessed for that matter, after the long walk in nowhere!

They walk through some government offices, come across some babus of the offices abusing everyone else in the world while sipping their teas…

“yeah, there are human beings here, follow those decent looking uncles, they look civilized, we will get through this!!”… Of course, it’s the powerful girl thinking again!

“Is this bandra at all or are we out of bandra??”, shouts the friend. And we get the point why the powerful girl tried to keep her friend calm, controlled and quiet. Cause she spoke once and made quite a few heads turn!!!

“Shushhhh…. ok shut up, we’re almost there!!”

GAIETY GALAXY. I love this mall... Is it a mall or just a multiplex?... So many people! We are back to the city where PEOPLE live!... Is it a multiplex?... Everyone seems to be waiting outside for some movie show to end!... Are there no stores inside? ... Its too ugly and badly designed to be a mall! ... What is that chick wearing? ..Ooh, nice hoops.. Oh, her friend looks better! ... What a crowd at Bandra man,.. we must come to bandra more often,...oo nice guys, or should I say ‘Eye tonics’ !! ... Is this a mall?? ... Forget it!! Lets get outta here!

The Swirls in Your Head,,,

When you complain about something, what is the reason behind it really?

Is it because things are not happening the way you want!? Or is it because its “their” fault, that the people concerned are not behaving the way they “should”…

Who decides this “the way they should be…”? Isn’t it You! You like a person for the way he is, not just because you’re in a good mood at that point of meeting…You like him for what he was. Now do people change? Or is it only the circumstances that change?

People are always the way they were, the way they have been. That’s what makes each person unique right! (Try to change yourself, for good or for bad, to test this. Deep inside, you’ll be yourself only, at the end of several trials)

So one thing’s clear, that people stay the same, the circumstances change and what changes with them is the way of seeing things.

And what explains that?

Well, you “label” people differently, you like a person for no big reason as such and hate another person simply ‘cause you do! You like being with a person, that’s something You have created in your mind…

So, comin’ back, do people really change with circumstances or do these labels that you set get altered?

Sometime ago, you had labeled a person as a really nice person. Today, if he doesn’t behave as expected (as labeled rather), you complain about him!

Can you really complain when it’s all in your head? Can you really expect people to behave the way you want them to? Do you change your mindset about people simply when they fail to be the way you wanted them to be?

All the questions probably end at another one… What do you concentrate on, more, in a relationship… is it about giving in, or taking from, a relationship?

A balance between the two would make life too simple to live!! :-)

Got so much love ...

# From my buddies when they were highly concerned about hooking me up with my childhood crush!

# From papa when he carried his little daughter on his lap all through the two floors of the apartment while she acted as if she was fast asleep.

# From the friends who sat, played, partied, ate, made crank calls, watched movies, had our first pajama parties together.

# From those with whom I learnt to be myself and yet be liked :P , from whom I learned to act crazy and learned to even say “Sorry” . . .

# From the new friends that I made through other older friends, who still share every little thing going on in their busy lives. . .

# From those who never left home for school without hugging their one year old-chubby-sister once, in their own little arms, my elder brothers…#

# From those who were with me for a very little time, yet made some of the most hopeless days of my life, much easier and lighter…

# Later, from the new friends in graduation, who laughed at every silly joke I cracked, and laughed along for all the four years …

# From those who are not in touch anymore, as well as from those who’ve become friends for life now…

# From the new city Mumbai and the lovely friends I got here.

# From the ones I left back home; whose love has been increasing as ever with time …

# From those, with whom I’ve gotten back in touch after long long lost touch, which of course used to be due to some funny unavoidable issues.

# From those whom I know for a very few months now, but can be so sure their love is selfless and forever…

# From those who haven’t met since ages now, but value the memories of those good times even today…

There are many more… its amazing to see how easily we get love in life and that too in such abundance.

The lucky ones like me, enjoy and cherish every bit of it.

The unfortunate ones, sadly, might fail to even recognize the several sources…

Keep :)

Show Me The Meaning

We all strive to find that something in our life that would really make a “difference”. A difference from what? From our routine-regular-nothing special-about-it life? There’s always something that is to be followed or to be fought for, in order to move ahead!

A wise friend once said to me: “Don’t be life a leaf, just going with life the way it (the wind) is taking you. Be a river rather; striving for more, through the stones, mountains, barriers and throwing aside the little pebbles that it comes across now and then.”

They say times have changed. Yes they indeed have; but it’s US who bring about changes!

It’s all in your “Vision”. You see as much as your vision permits. Even biologically! Some get lenses to improve their deformed or weak vision, while some get binoculars to broaden their pretty much healthy vision!!

It certainly comes with experience! There was a time when Richard Branson was planning his big business and thinking of earning loads of money, in his teens; while at the same time, maybe our mothers were being forced into child marriages. Its really amazing to note!! However, it’s only after these few years of experience, today, that our parents want us to get what they couldn’t. They finally have their visions broadened!!

Why do we call them “visionaries”? It’s their vision that drives them towards something really huge. Nobody’s ever too small to dream. Have several dreams, dream big, have a vision for your life!

Only these will drive you towards a better tomorrow, a better You!!
Dream tonight, of what you really wish to get outta your life; be it career, and individual goal, or your family, or anything else!

Unless and until you dream, nothing is going to push you towards it. Life has become too convenient, sitting at home, reading blogs…

Your dreams are the drivers! Wake up! Rock on!!

A Better Picture

Ever experienced a strain in your eyes? It happens because of exhaustion of the eyes.

Shut your eyes completely for more than a minute or so. Open them after a little while. (Recommended to be tried at least once!!)

See how extremely bright and colorful everything around looks. Even the things that have always been around and left unnoticed look brighter and appealing.

Well, that’s the catch! Forget everything for a while, take a break, come back to face it all in a better way! You’ll surely see things with a newer dimension, in a newer color...

A Smile I won't Forget...

There’s nothing more amazing to see than the hustle bustle in a local train at the night time. When all the people are heading to their homes, which is the best time for vendors to sell clips, accessories, fruits, carrots, bindis, etc. to the several women on board.

After a tiring day of movies and shopping, you try to get into one of the ladies compartments somehow with the crowd, find all the frustrated people inside. Some frustrated with their jobs, some with their private affairs, several uncountable reasons… some even extremely happy and gay about many things… I look at each face and wonder what’s going on at the back of that mind… Finally, I think of myself, land up on a seat after a long wait…

A little girl came and sat in front of me. Around 6 to 7 years old (Don’t Know, I am bad at guessing ages!) She was one of the vendors, sadly! She sat with a big box of Bindis on her lap. She had a tiny black thing in her hand. I looked closely to find a McDonald’s balloon (Which McD had been distributing today to each order)

Some fortunate little kiddo must’ve thrown it around which got into this little angel’s hands. It was like a treasure for her. It was an unblown balloon, which she kept looking at all the while discovering something which I have no idea of.

Our eyes met and I smile dat her seeing how innocently she was cleaning the little piece of rubber. The best part, she smiled back wide. I’ve always known that my smile is too wide, but today, I met a competitor. Which ironically made me happy and desperate about the competition.

A long ponytail, a long frock on her thin, hungry body, beautiful eyes, a dusky hue to her skin, the little balloon in hands and the box on her lap.

She tried to blow the balloon and abruptly took it off her lips, hid it in her lap seeing somebody. I turned back to see who stole her smile and excitement. Found a middle-aged woman; all I could see in those few seconds were, big earrings, ample rage for the little angel in her eyes. I turned to look back at the girl. She hid the balloon, looked at the lady back in little lesser rage comparatively, or an innocent despise I would say.

The lady yelled at her to work and not sit idle like that. She yelled back, something that meant “Yeah, I’ll get back after…”. The lady proceeded with her accessories trays further. She smiled back at me, I did too! Nobody would NOT return a smile to that lovely, wide, pure smile.
The smile dissolved abruptly yet again when the lady passed by. She saw the balloon once, i am sure not for the last time that night. She must’ve played with it later at home, when alone… because she indeed values it that much.

Anyway, she slid it into a pocket in her dress, smiled at me, took the box and left for “work”.
She vanished in the crowd, I saw that lady a couple of times around. I kept looking for the little angel but in vain. Don’t know why I wanted to see her again, once… maybe I wished to give/get a few more smiles so she could forget her sucking job!! Huh…

I kept wondering, thinking what other people at her age must be doing, “blasting” balloons, watching cartoon network, sleeping on cozy beds, mom’s laps….

Not that they shouldn’t!! but such li’l angels (who I meet on trains) also deserve all that! Think of giving them one such lavish day and the smile on their faces after every li’l amazing thing they discover around!!

Priceless :)

Positivity Takes Will

We meet thousands of people each year. And it’s for sure that everybody has some impact on you. Some first impressions are correct, while some change with time.

You’re born empty-handed, and would leave this world in the same way. However, in the meanwhile, all that happens is give and take.

Everything happening to you is your fate, every person you meet around was meant to, as per your fate…

Then, if everything’s so well planned by the God Almighty, what do you have to do about it? Let the days pass by as they come? No! in this give-and-take, there should be more Give Than Take from your side. You have to pass on one simple message to every person you meet ever!... And that li’l message is Positivity…

Has somebody ever said to you, “You can say it easily, but it takes guts to face it boss!” Well, it isn’t really too difficult when something wrong is happening around you.

It has to happen as it’s your fate. What’s difficult actually is not just to face it, but to face it Positively!

Of people who commit suicides are probably the ones with too high guts, but those guts could’ve been used for something better, for life….maybe that’s why most of us consider them as weak… All that they ever went wrong in, was the way of Facing it. It was not POSITIVE…that’s the word!

That’s the word in my appeal that I would want Everyone to cling on to forever.

It is indeed difficult to take things positively as they come, when you’re in deep s**t. Only people outside can suggest you to do that, never your own self! But I would say, give it a try…

“Don’t take life too seriously, you’ll never get out of it alive!!” is something I’d once heard, and is true indeed. When you’re not gonna get outta it alive, why the fuss about the petty things!

What issues might you have in life?? :-

# I don’t like this thing about him/her? (You cant help it boss! It’s you who are related to him/her ultimately, and besides, you are not perfect either!)

# I don’t like the way life is treating me!! (Boss! It’s your life, treat it the way you want it to be!! Life treats you the way you treat yourself!!)

# I don’t know why my life’s going on the wrong way!!? (If you know what’s wrong and which way is right, go ahead!! Don’t whine)

# I don’t know what fate has in store for me ahead!:( (You don’t need to know it anyway! Do what makes you happy! Even if you tumble down you’ll know why you did!)

Pass on the positivity to everyone you meet…

Sick of your boss? Can't help, join elsewhere or try to have fun at his back, yet keep him all flattered and buttered up & happy… :P

Confused about your career? You know very well, what all you Can't be doing, and Don’t!! :P

Pissed off with the interference of your beloved/relatives? Well it’s in their name, ‘loved’ & ‘relate’!! Try whatever, you can’t live smiling without them! …

So no fuss, no negativity! Nothing is of use! Things are meant to happen! They will! All You need to do is be more positive. All it takes is your will!

Enjoy every moment!

Do what you REALLY feel like doing!

Don’t stop yourself as long as it doesn’t harm any other living being!

Most important of all, Keep :)
